Presented at India Arch Dialogue 2017:

Abu and Sandeep are the embodiment of Renaissance men. Their sphere of creativity isn’t restricted to garments alone. Though not formally trained in interior design, they stumbled upon this while helping their friends place artworks or redecorate rooms. It became a passion and then a thriving business. They think outside the box – in fact, they have created their own box, with the world as its parameters – and to constantly change its identity is their special gift. If your home is to be an oasis, a magical place away from the world outside and entirely individualistic, then they are the people for you.
Their designs are undoubtedly eclectic, drawing heavily from India. The result is grandeur and opulence with a huge dollop of indulgence. Traversing from the initial throne like chairs, carved and then painstakingly painted by Abu, to the gamut of materials that now make up an Abu-Sandeep home, has been a process of discovery, and in twenty nine years they have honed this aspect of their craft expertly.
Bold inventiveness and the ability to stretch the bounds of possibility are demonstrated in the art as well as the lives of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. From haute couture, they have traversed to an object world with seamless ease, creating in the process homes, public spaces and spectacular weddings and events that are a heightened experience in visual consumption.
“In our vocabulary there is nothing like a plain wall. We look for the big picture and we push until the last limit of what can be achieved. We’re not apologetic, not afraid, not guilty.”
